BUILDERS CLUB

Purpose:
Builders Club is a Kiwanis Service Leadership Program that allows members to learn leadership skills through service. It gives students a chance to make a difference in their community and at school.

8th grade students

 

When Meet:
During 8th grade lunch, as needed

FIRST Tech Challenge

Purpose:
To expose students to robotics and engineering
 
Who Can Join:

Friends of Rachel (FOR)

Purpose:
To spread the message of Rachel's Challenge through their acts and words of kindness.

FRENCH CLUB

Sponsor:

Purpose:
To promote the cultures of the Francophone world through social gatherings that provide an array of activities such as cultural presentations, skits, games, videos, holiday celebrations, and service learning opportunities that allow students and teachers to interact, practice French, and learn about other cultures and understand people in other lands. It also provides an opportunity for students to take the French language into the community.
 
Who Can Join:
Open to all students of French regardless of their level and ability in French.
 
When Meet:
Meetings are held in room 107 at MJH from 2:35 until 3:35 on Wednesday afternoons. Meetings are held every other week, or weekly, depending on the need.

LIFE ON PURPOSE

Purpose:
This is a student led organization that gathers in Christian fellowship.

NATIONAL JUNIOR HONOR SOCIETY

Purpose:
National Junior Honor Society is a service organization.

 

Who Can Join:
8th graders who made 3.5 GPA and NO C's each 9 weeks of 7th grade

 

When Meet:
1st Wednesday of each month

PATRIOT BUDDIES

Purpose:
The purpose of the club is to form one-on-one friendships between regular education students and special needs students.

 

Who Can Join:
All students that apply are eligible--special needs students and regular education students.  However, there is an application process for the regular education students at the beginning of the school year.

 

When Meet:
Group meetings are held twice a month during the school day usually during 7th grade lunch in the gym.  Sometimes we have guest speakers and we hold the meeting in room 408.  Regular students are expected to meet once a week on their own even if it is just to drop in to say "hello"  or drop off a note to their buddy.

PRIDE

Purpose:
7th and 8th graders who want to make a difference, help each other, work together to improve school climate, choose to be drug-free, and teach other teens. Be the change.

 

Who Can Join:
Any 7th or 8th grader who is drug-free and wants to have some fun.

SADD

Purpose:
Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) provides information and a support group for students. It hopes to help students make smart decisions when faced with choices involving drug use, alcohol, etc.

All students are invited to join.

 

When Meet:
2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month, from 2:30-3:00, in room 405

Purpose:
To promote student activities, better the campus, and run the student store
